A whole LOT more!!

Our house is actually starting to look like a house!! They started framing the house on Friday (6/12/09). If you can believe it...this is what it looked like Friday afternoon (they were still working while we were there!):

When we went back on Monday evening (6/15/09)...this is what we saw:

How awesome is that? We were actually able to go into the house and even go upstairs. Here are some more pictures from Monday night. It looks like even with the weather delays we are still on track for an August closing and move in date!!

The view of the back of the house. The top window is our master bedroom:

A view from the open side (where the other lot is). The window on this side is in the stairwell to allow more light and air flow throughout the house. We saw this option when we toured another "Acacia" home in the neighborhood. I think it will be a nice addition!

Our front porch:

This is the loft facing the stairwell. The room on the right is one of the bedrooms.

This picture shows the kitchen and "nook" from the family room:

Here is the view from the other angle, looking into the family room from the kitchen. Steven is standing in the corner where our fireplace will go. It's really starting to look "REAL" now!!

Footings and Foundations

SOOO, it's been awhile since our last update, but I was waiting to have some good pictures and updates. Since the last update we had our preconstruction meeting. We learned a little more about the timeline for the construction and found out that all they were waiting for were the building permits. Two weeks ago they got the permits and started prepping the lot. They poured the footings and the foundation. On Friday they poured the slab and did the water/sewer lines. If the weather holds out we should have the framing started by the middle of the week! Here are a few pictures of the progress!!
The rough drive and footings:

Another view of the footings:

The foundation is poured! Here's the view of the front...you can see the front porch there in the front left of the picture.

Steven caught me scratching our name into the slab!!

If you look closely, you can see the "Sexton" in the slab near our front porch:)
